Perry Noble in the house.

Perry Noble spoke at TheBOD this week... how many pastors get to say that this Monday morning?  I love what we do.  I love the opportunity to hear from the best of the best each and every week.  Dude knocked it out of the park with God is HERE!  The life, the death, and the victory of Christ.  I love to be reminded that WE have already won... 

Perry said:

             “We serve a God that don’t waste time”

            “Run up the score… the victory is already won!”

“Sometimes we must endure the pain to experience the provision.”

 

“You jerk!...” referring to himself.

 

“I’m preaching now… somebody's about to get saved..." while talking about bread.

 

“I need you repeating me.  The world doesn’t need more Perry Noble.  They need more of Me.”

 

One point of disagreement I have with him…. No Perry… you do NOT have the hottest, Godliest woman in the world as your wife… she is taken.  You’ll have to settle for number TWO.

Hard Work

Warning: I'm about to get on my soap box.... nope.... changed my mind... I just deleted a paragraph of rear-blistering.  Jake called... he was working on about 1.5 hours of sleep.  Working at LC Stillwater this week as they prepare for At The Movies.  He said all this week the staff and volunteers will be up until 2-3AM decorating as they prepare for this series.  Focus.  Sacrifice.  Plain old HARD WORK.  Think what you want.... success comes with a high price.  God deserves nothing less.  hmmm there I go again.  Better put a lid on it.  I'll let Thomas Edison do the talking...  he said:   

Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.

There is no substitute for hard work.

Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration.

Success is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration.

Dream

What do you dream of?  Have your childhood dreams disappeared?  Do you still live with "wonder"?  A good friend reminded me today... to dream.  We settle for so much less.  We settle for routine... for safe... for responsible... The Byers in London are now on a trek across Europe trusting God will provide as they network and work with churches... reminds me of Paul... that's faith.  I have so little faith.  My dreams are all so "doable".  Are you living on the edge or are you living the dream?  My friend wants to see the Northern Lights, live on the beach, live in the mountains, be a teacher, write a book.... she wants to live and I mean live every minute of every day to the fullest.  I think that is what Jesus would want for us as well.  I think, as John Piper would, that He is most glorified when we are most delighted in Him.  I want to live a life delighting in Him.  What do you dream of?

Sunday Six 6-21-09

I know.. I'm a few days late... oh well

*"Popping the belt"... cracked me up.  That is a lost art on this coming generation.  My dad could lay on some leather and I, of course, had it coming.  The last time I heard the swoosh, swoosh, of the belt coming out and felt the pain I was SIXTEEN... yeah.... I had it coming and NO I won't tell you the story.

*Speaking of dad.   Dad you are the best.  I'm confident that your example, love, guidance, leadership, support... well you being you has made me who I am today.  It has also given me a strong healthy picture of what my relationship with our Heavenly Father should look like.  Thank you.  I love you. 

*Intimate Father... To know God as Intimate Father and to know that He is just crazy about me.... and you... sweet....

Well the six gets cut short.  Jake just walked in the door from weeks away at camp... later

Day Off

OK Monday we took the day off and made a quick run to Silver Dollar City in Branson.  I'm not a huge fan but it was worth the trip because Victoria, Cassi and Lawrence made the trip as well.  It was super fun trailing Luke and Victoria to the rides.  I'm more into the big skillet hash and frozen lemonade.  Although.... I did strap in with the gang an a few times.  The end of the day found me belly laughing... I mean belly laughing.  Last ride... gotta go... aw come on Cassi you won't get too wet.  So we all climb to top and jump in the "Waterboggan" cell phones safely tucked away in a plastic bag... ummm... Allison is sitting on... ummm see the picture.  This is not real.  See how nice and dry they are....

 

NOPE.... I grabbed this shot of Cassi the minute she stepped off of the ride....

 

Lawrence somehow found his way home without the iPHONE GPS... I thought I was going to see a grown man cry as he was tapping the water out of the end of the connector port.... Fortunately by Tuesday ALL cellphones had dried out and were back to work even the amazing iPHONEs!  We had an awesome day... I haven't laugh that much in a while.  I also haven't been spun upside down in a loop in a while.  Can't remember the last time something took my breath that bad....  

Finally, we (Me, Allison, and Luke... the Browers had to get an early start home) wrapped up the evening on the Branson Landing eating some great Mexican food with Jake.  It was good to see him.  He is well.  Hadn't seen him in a month.  Love that kid.  God is going to use him BIG!

Life is good... I am blessed... DON'T BLINK! 

Sunday Six 6-14-09

* Tuesday... it's good.  It's really good.  What will God do with your faithfulness.  He is up to something... want to play?

* Lifechurch.tv Fort Worth is in an old movie theater.  Scott and Stephanie dropped by on their vacation.  I love partnering with Lifechurch.tv.

* One Prayer... I believe God's Church... yep... Church with the big "C".  The one global Church has within it's very DNA the longing to come together.  Men drive it apart with rules, control, and restriction... but God in His beautiful power and design draws the bride together.  One Prayer works because God is a work in the WORLD!

* Good video of Jason and Garrett Lewis at Channel 5.  I love partnering with Mt. Olive on this project.  We can do MORE when we come together.  Garrett is a stand up guy.  Very comfortable in front of the camera... hummm wonder why...  note to self... be ready when you shoot video with him.

* This week:  Craig is back this week with a special Father's Day One Prayer message. 

Father's Day... ummmm what do you get the Dad that has everything?

I want to talk about me

BS... Like I said Sunday, I'm really just not very good at chit-chat.  I think it comes from my parents... typically we keep our mouth shut and hope our actions speak positive things for us.  I get really bored listening to mindless chatter and find myself drifting away and thinking.... "does it really matter to anyone that cousin Bill's sister, Sue's, neighbor, Jane's, 5 year-old grandson, Joey, can list all 50 states?..." and I realize they are looking at me because they just asked a question and I have no idea what it was.... or maybe I have this fear of being "that guy", like the one described in this video... If only I were an astronaut....  POW... trump card every time.  Anyway, this is pretty funny.

* Vocabulary "BS" .... good grief Johnny is that the best you can do?

* "Beat It".... riff.... did I just year that in Break Free?

* One Prayer - Who are you praying for?  Praying God will hear your prayers, that your faith brings you into the game, that people come to Christ and their eternal destiny is changed.... Want to play?

* One Prayer offering.  Last year $500.  This years goal $5000.... let's do something God sized. 

* Props to the Jason and the Tech Team.  In the past few weeks we have gone to a whole new level with ProPresentor, added screens, added visuals, smooth transitions.  Nice work guys!

*Francis Chan -- Our speaker this week.  Pastor of Cornerstone Church.  Author of Crazy Love a book you should read.  This guy speaks with power and passion.  God is using him in a huge way.  You guys are going to like it.
